No. The FDA states that by statute it does not approve dietary supplements for safety and effectiveness, and that registration of a facility does not denote approval of a product.

Nothing on the panel of eleven is a stimulant, and the other ingredients line reads: Hypromellose (capsule), rice flour, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate. Neither list carries caffeine.

Eleven, and the panel prints an amount beside every one. There is no proprietary blend and no grouped total on this label.

Mangosteen powder, prickly pear extract 4:1 and cinnamon bark extract 10:1, at 100 mg each. Riboflavin and alpha lipoic acid follow at 25 mg.

Two live cultures at 1 billion CFU each: Bifidobacterium breve and Akkermansia muciniphila. The panel names species rather than strains, and a strain code is what ties a culture to a trial.

The other ingredients line reads: Hypromellose (capsule), rice flour, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate. Hypromellose is the capsule shell and it is a plant cellulose rather than gelatin.

Forty-five milligrams. The konjac line is 50 mg standardised to 90 per cent glucomannan, and 90 per cent of 50 mg is 45 mg.

No — and the fairest comparison is a plate rather than a trial. CDC cites the Dietary Guidelines at 22 to 34 grams of fibre a day for adults. One capsule's 45 mg is about one five-hundredth of the low end of that.

About 14 mg of curcumin, from 15 mg of a turmeric extract standardised to 95 per cent, and 2.4 mg of resveratrol, from 12 mg of an extract standardised to 20 per cent.

Because the Daily Value is small. NIH ODS gives the adult RDA as 1.3 mg a day for men and 1.1 mg for women, so 25 mg is about nineteen times the male figure. No Tolerable Upper Intake Level has been set for riboflavin.

It is a concentration ratio: ten parts of bark reduced to one part of extract. So 100 mg is about a gram of bark equivalent, which is not the same chemistry as a gram of bark.

The label says: “As a dietary supplement, take 1 capsule daily, preferably 15-30 minutes before a meal.” Take it with a full glass of water.

No. The label says not to exceed the recommended dose, and one capsule is the serving the panel is written for.

The label excludes anyone under 18 and anyone pregnant or nursing, and asks anyone on medication or under a physician's care to consult one first.

Berberine is the one to raise. At 900 mg a day for two weeks it inhibited CYP3A4 and cut CYP2D6 activity ninefold in healthy volunteers (Guo 2012), and those enzymes clear a long list of prescriptions. This panel carries 15 mg — take the bottle to the appointment.

No trial of the finished formula has been published. The research that exists concerns individual ingredients, mostly at amounts one capsule does not carry.

The glucomannan trials reported abdominal discomfort, diarrhoea and constipation (Onakpoya 2014). Riboflavin in excess leaves in the urine and can turn it bright yellow, which is expected and harmless.

NIH ODS records seven cases of oesophageal obstruction with tablet forms in Australia in 1984 and 1985, and says powdered and capsule forms have not been associated with that effect. ExiTide is a capsule — the useful step is the full glass of water.

NCCIH notes that the risk of harmful effects from probiotics is greater in people with severe illnesses or compromised immune systems. For anyone in that position the live cultures are the part of this panel worth raising first.

LiverTox scores turmeric as a documented cause of liver injury, and attributes the cases to high-bioavailability forms made with piperine or lipid delivery. This label names a 95 per cent extract at 15 mg with neither.
